  • You can get our smoked BBQ a few different ways:

    1. Pop-up cooks or Brakes & Briskets events

Monitor our social media and Events page to join us for some unforgettable smoked BBQ near you. Check out some of our past events on the Media gallery.

    2. Book us for catering

For orders and inquiries, see the Book Us page to get started. Some helpful information to kick things off include: date, time, headcount, and location. If you have an idea of what you are interested in, great! If not, we’re happy to curate a menu and provide an estimate for your review.

    3. À la carte orders

Request items for custom orders if you don't feel like having a large party. Order an individual tray of BBQ sure to cue your meat sweats. See the Book Us page to get started.

    4. Book us as a vendor for your event

We are not a food truck. Different from a food truck, all of our food is prepared and smoked before the event (i.e., we arrive with BBQ that is hot, cooked, and ready to serve). Once we start trimming meats, there's no stopping! As such, we require an estimated headcount (better if confirmed) so we can gauge how much BBQ to prepare to ensure freshness and avoid food waste.

Please note that vendor events are subject to a non-refundable $500 booking fee to reserve your date (this is not a deposit). These practices help us avoid having to implement a "guaranteed minimum" that other food vendors typically have.

  • For our catering services, you pay for the food and service on behalf of your guests (i.e., your guests eat for free).

As a vendor, your guests pay us directly when they purchase their meals. On average, guests will spend between $20-35.

    • We are not a food truck and do not cook anything on-site. Services are available by demand and our BBQ is prepared and smoked before the event, i.e., the food is hot, cooked, and ready to serve upon arrival.

    • To ensure optimal freshness and quality, a finite amount of BBQ is brought and available until sold out. For vendor events, headcount does not typically equal eaters, therefore we assess food proportions based on available information and expertise.

Please note that vendor events are subject to a non-refundable $500 booking fee to reserve your date (this is not a deposit). This helps us avoid having to implement a "guaranteed minimum" that other food vendors typically have.

  • Time constraints and lack of suitable facilities often hinder restaurants and caterers from managing a 12-14 hour fire.

Leave the hard work to us! Our consistent low and slow cooking technique consistently delivers mouthwatering and tender BBQ infused with an exceptional smoke flavor.

  • Our brisket is a popular gluten-free choice, as it is salt & pepper seasoned without sauce.

Our other meats and sides are generally prepared with our custom rubs and BBQ sauce, which are not all confirmed to be gluten-free. However, if you have specific requests for personal catering, we can prepare your selections based on your dietary needs.

  • We are based out of Central NJ and currently focus on NJ pop-ups, Meat Meet, and private and corporate catering.

However we expect to have our store open in Whitehouse Station, NJ by Summer 2025. Stay tuned for updates ;)

  • Meat Meet is a Cars & BBQ showcase by Brakes & Briskets - the ultimate mashup of cars, smoked BBQ, live music, craft brews, and epic giveaways. A carefully curated selection of vehicles are featured across the grasslands of New Jersey. We typically prepare between 700-1,000 pounds of smoky meats and extras, ensuring both meat lovers and vegetarians are satisfied. You won’t find this much BBQ at any other NJ automotive show!

Our objective? To create cars & BBQ events that foster an engaging environment of inclusiveness and camaraderie much like a family BBQ. Bring your family, children, pets, and even non-enthusiast friends. We promise they’ll have a great time!

After Service

  • This is never a question because our BBQ doesn’t last till the end of the party.

But if you are not up to the task, the brisket may be stored in the fridge for up to 10 days or frozen for up to 3 months.

Once reheated, meat should not be consumed if it has been left at room temperature for more than 4 hours.

  • There shouldn’t be any leftovers but if you do…
